Ans: An assertive sentence is one that affirms or negates a fact.

        It's two kinds - Affirmative Sentence and Negative Sentence.

        Affirmative Sentence Examples -
(a) I like tea 
(b) We play football in the field.

        Negative Sentence Examples -
(a) She doesn't like the game.
(b) They are not out teachers.

2. What is an Interrogative Sentence? Name its two kinds with two examples of each.
Ans: An interrogative sentence is one that asks about or enquiries a fact through a question.

        It has two kinds - Starts with auxiliary verbs and starts with interrogative words.

        Auxiliary verbs examples -
(a) Am I a boy?
(b) Are you going there ?

        Interrogative words example -
(a) Who are you?
(b) What did you do then?


3. What is an Imperative Sentence? What do imperative sentences express? Give four examples to explain your answer.
Ans: An imperative sentence is one that expresses a command, a request, and advice or a proposal.

        An imperative sentences express a command or a request or an advice or a proposal.

        Here are some examples of imperative sentences:-

(a) Do it now.
(b) Clean the blackboard.

        Request Examples -
(a) Kindly give me a pen.
(b) Please help me.

        Advice Examples -
(a) Obey your parents.
(b) Respect your elders.

        Proposal Examples -
(a) Let us do it now.

4. What is an Optative Sentence? What does it express ? Give three examples.
Ans: An optative sentence is one that expresses a wish or a prayer involving a blessing or a curse.

        It expresses a wish or a prayer involving a blessing or a curse.

        Three Examples -
(a) May you be happy.
(b) May God bless you richly.


5. What is an Exclamatory Sentence ? What do exclamatory sentences express? Give four examples to explain your answer.
Ans: An exclamatory sentence each one that expresses a sudden feeling.

        It expresses a sudden feeling like joy, wonder, scron, sorrow ,applause etc

        Examples -
(a) What a surprise!
(b) Alas ! The man is no more.
(c) Hurry! We have won it.
(d) Bravo! You can do it.
