Ans: A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought.
It has two chief parts.
2. Name the two chief parts of a sentence.
Ans: The two chief parts of a sentence are the subject and the predicate.
3. What is a subject? Why is it called so?
Ans: The the subject of a sentence is the noun or pronoun that does the action or about with something is said.
It is called so because this is the "subject of the talk."
4. What is a predicate? Why is it called so?
Ans: The predicate is the part of a sentence that tells what the subject does or is.
It is called so because this part affirms or predicates something about the subject of each sentence.
