C. Answer in brief:
1. What did early man use for his protection?
Ans: The scorching heat, cold and heavy rain made the early man's life miserable. He wanted to be safe from the wild animals in the night. In order to get rid of these adversities, he lived in natural shelters like caves, away from the strong sun, wind, and rain. Towards, later part of the Stone Age Age, people learned building, simple shelters of stone and mud. Thus, he protected himself.

2. What did the early man use to cover his body?
Ans: The early man used leaves and barks to cover his body. He also learned to dry the skin of animals, he killed and used them as clothes.

3. From what did the early man make his tools?
Ans: The Early Man used big and strong stones to make his tools. He learned to give shape to the stones by breaking and sharpening them. Thus, shaped stones became stone tools for getting his food. Slowly, he learned to improve his tools by cutting them and making them handy and sharper. With the passage of time, he learned to tie a sharp stone to a wooden stick.

4. What was the early man's food?
Ans: The Early Man was a hunter and food gatherer. He hunted animals for food. The main source of food of early man was the flesh of animals including fish and birds. They also collected wild fruits, berries, and roots to eat.
